$175,000.00 Think about it. What do you think it would take for you to make that amount of money in 2009? The answer might surprise you.

Speaking with a client of mine last week, we played around with some numbers for a new audio program he is about to launch. His goal was to make a simple $175,000.00 in 2009 with this program.

First, we talked about price. How much would he sell his new audio program for? He decided on a price of $47 for his program. Now, that’s a great price-point, it’s easy for people to afford, and it was a low price for the value of what he was offering.

DO you know how many sales it would take to make his goal a reality? Don’t worry, most people never do the number, either.

It would take him fewer than 3,800 sales. OK, so how would he go about making those sales? After all, what he’s done is a new program, and he doesn’t even have a list to work with!

Here’s what I told him to do. . .

The first step was to put up a single-page web site with a “Buy Now” button at the end of his sales letter. Next, gather a few testimonials from people who have heard and loved the program. Give copies away in return for testimonials. THis is very common in the book publishing business, and it’s a perfectly acceptable way to get great testimonials fast.

To promote this product, start by contacting anybody and everybody you know who owns a mailing list. There are hundreds of directories on the Internet with this information, most of them are free.

You want about 50 people who will agree to send an e-mail to their list on your behalf. You can offer them a “preview” copy of the audio program,and you could offer them a commission on every sale, but I told him that was not necessary. I have other ways of getting people to promote my programs without the need to pay them in cash.

I also suggested he submit his new web page to the major search engines and set up an “ad pool” and get his Pay-Per-Click ads paid for by other people. I suggested he start with an initial budget of $1,000/month – all of it from other people and not one cent of if out of his pocket.

Finally, I told him to write just 3 articles on some of the points he made in the audio program and to submit them online to the 3 biggest article directories making sure there was a link back to his sales letter in the resource box at the end of each article.

Once this marketing system went live, he was simply to keep an eye on things, and make any changes needed as traffic and sales start coming in.

I knew that within 6 months he would have hit his goal, and within a year, he would far exceed his financial expectations.

You can probably see that nothing I’ve shared here is really all that complicated. In fact, I’ve taught hundreds of people to do what I’ve shared here, and for those that stuck with it, they made far in excess of $175,000.00 their first year.

In fact, it’s truly not uncommon for a person selling information to make more than a million dollars a year following the simple steps I’ve just shared with you here.

Your biggest challenge to making this a reality, isn’t the complexity of the process, it’s in keep you focused on the goal and to do these things without somebody standing over you demanding they get done.
