What You’re Seeking is Out There… and Terri Levine’s Last Ever Business Seminar?

Money. It’s the topic on almost everybody’s mind, and more often today than at any other time in recent memory. But is it really harder to make it today than it was just a few years ago?

The answer depends upon your mind set.

If you are the type that buys into what you hear on the news, chances are you may be feeling the pinch and seeing signs everywhere you look that there is less money to be found out there.

If on the other hand, you are the type that sees how much money is flowing on a daily basis all around you, you may have a different opinion.

Honestly, I’ve played this mind game both ways. I’ve been there before in the late 1980′s when I was booted to the curb from a nice cushy job because of “budget cuts.” I got depressed and saw  no way out of my situation.

That lasted about 5 months and 4 weeks, literally until the very last unemployment check was to arrive. That week changed many things for me, and I found, not just one, but four jobs in just 24 hours!

So after nearly 6 months of not even a nibble, sending out hundreds of resumes, a simple shift in mind set produced four job offers in just 24 hours.

Friday is the Best Day for This Little Exercise

It’s Friday and for many folks that means it’s time for the weekend!

For me, Friday’s have been a day off for more than 5 years now. I work hard the rest of the week and take Friday’s off to take care of me, to play, to relax, and most importantly, to plan my next steps.

Running a full time business requires effort, often a lot of effort but the rewards make it all worthwhile.

If you’re not yet at the helm of a successful business, isn’t it time for you to find a way of getting there?

Will 2010 be THE Year for You?

Or will it be just another year of the same old, same old?

When December 31st rolls around each year, we tend to get real excited about what the next year will bring. By about this time each year, we’re pretty much back to doing the same
things we’ve always done and we’re back to getting the same old results too.

This is a great time to take a moment to think about making a few small changes that can lead you to having a fabulous year instead of getting more of the same.

This past weekend, I attended a seminar in Los Angeles hosted by Terri Levine. I came away with 238 notes in just a 2-day event.

My point here is that you’ve got to look for places, people, and things that inspire you. I get inspired being around people who want to get more out of life. So I do attend and host seminars. I get inspired by reading books, listening to audio programs, and by watching motivational video presentations.

Life has a way of taking the wind out of our sail. It has a way to bring us down and often times all it takes is a phone call.

If you let it, life will rob you of your motivation, your energy, and your passion. These are the ingredients of success and in my world, I do everything I can to hang onto these things. What about you?

Are you fighting to stay on top of it all? Do you feel knocked down and dragged out at the end of the day? Are you wondering if things will ever get better?

You’re not alone, but being part of the crowd is not the best place to be. A better choice would be to find ways that will lead you to places the crowds will never go. You want to feel things the crowd will never feel. And you want to do things the crowd would never dream of doing.

When you do, you’ll begin to experience real freedom.

But most people will argue that they simply can’t even begin to imagine this because, hey did you hear what they said on the news tonight?

If you wait for all things to be lined up before you decide to take a step forward, you will miss out on the best parts of life before you finally figure out that you can have it all, you can have now, and you’ve already got what it takes to make it happen.

You may be excited today because you’re going to both giving and receiving gifts for those you love most, but did you know that there is a gift that you can give yourself that will last a lifetime and that will give you great joy for all the years of your life?

It was back in 1994, Christmas Day to be exact that I gave myself this gift. Back then I was not making much progress in my career. In fact, I had just recently left a full time job with a great salary and benefits to go out on my own.

First, let me say that I totally believe that ANYBODY can create for themselves what they really set their sights on having. If it’s a successful web site, a fast car, a big house, the perfect
relationship, you name it, if you want it bad enough you can have  it.

Will you “shine in ’09” or will this next year just be yet another year of struggle for you?

I’ve been doing a lot of thinking and planning over this past week and I’ve come up with a ton of new plans and better directions for my company in the new year.

While many people are just hoping to make it through the rougher times ahead, I’m actually looking at expanding and growing my business in 2009!

Now you might think I’m nuts, and you are entitled to your opinion. If on the other hand, you want to know how to grow your business in the coming year, please keep reading.

The first thing to know is that you’re not going to be able to do it on your own. It’s going to take a new level of thinking to make 2009 a better year for you.

Doing what you’ve done in 2008 simply won’t cut it in 2009. So the first place to start is by looking for somebody who can help you think “outside the box.”

Next, you’re going to need to do much more to get the same results you’ve been getting. In other words, what you did to make one sale in 2008, will require that you do 3 times as much to make that same sale.

And there are ways around this, but not if you’re going at it with the same set of skills you now have. You’re going to need to improve on your marketing and selling skills, and it’s a great idea to tap into somebody else’s knowledge, skills, and experience to get you where you need to be fast.

Finally, in 2009, the marketplace will continue to change dramatically. The very way you approach your customers is changing, new technologies are literally making the tried-and-true obsolete and you must stay on top of these changes in order to successfully navigate the changes that are here now and that are coming in 2009.

One of my favorite past-times is to review all the next generation technologies and to play with them as soon as they are available. This has kept me on top of it all for more than 2 decades.

But all that knowledge won’t buy tomorrow’s cup of coffee unless it is put into action, shared, and acted upon. This is why so many of the business owners I work with absolutely love what I do for them.

Not only do I help them to think outside the box, I can see things they could never see. With my undying passion for what’s new, what’s working, and what’s coming next, they can stay on top of the changes that are coming our way.

And they profit from them before the masses have even heard of their existence, and at the end of the day, my clients are more successful, wealthier, happier, and much more secure than 97% of all business owners.

What sets my clients apart from the “average” business owner is that they know and understand that they can’t build a successful business and at the same time be watching for new trends and technologies as they appear.

There is a reason they have me on their team, as part of their advisory staff, and as their primary success coach. The reason is because what they get from me is worth many times what they invest in hiring me.

While I can’t predict the future, what I can say is that I’m truly excited by what this New Year will bring. I’m looking forward to the new challenges ahead, and to finding new and powerful solutions that will overcome most any obstacle.

I want you to know that as we go forward into the New Year, I’m going to be right here on top of everything that’s happening, and I’ll be crafting new and better solutions for my clients so that they too can prosper while so many others will simply struggle just to keep the lights on.

Right now, most people are worried that they are going to have less and less as things continue to shift and change in our financial markets. This is a legitimate fear given what we’re being told and shown in the media.

But is this really what’s going on out there, or is it just part of a much bigger picture? The media tends to make you believe that this is just a small part of a much larger issue.

But, we know the media cannot cover any event entirely and what we end up seeing really is only a snap-shot of a much bigger, broader picture – resulting in things being constantly shown out of context.

There are many parts to this story, and most of them are NOT being covered in the media because the media is simply NOT capable of getting it all into their normal 3 minute sound bytes. So you and I end up seeing a very skewed picture of reality instead of the whole, more realistic picture.

So while you’re watching the news today, keep in mind that what you’re NOT seeing are stories of people who are GROWING their businesses, start-ups that are THRIVING, and people who are living the good life right now, and will continue to do so regardless of what’s happening downtown on Wall street.

If you look for these more positive stories, you’ll find them, but they are NOT on page 1 anywhere. If they are there at all, it will be as a small story somewhere in the back pages.

But seeking out these more positive stories is indeed where your hope is going to come from. So from this point forward, seek out stories of success. Seek out stories of people who are living their dreams, who are creating lives filled with abundance, and keep you eyes focused there instead of anywhere else.

You too can indeed have it all, right now, even with what you’re reading about in the news because what happens out there has little to do with what happens where it counts – inside of you.

The key in getting to where you want to be lies in your ability to take back control of your thoughts. If you can successfully do that, things will immediately improve in your life, and not just for you, but also for those you love and care about most.

Personally, I’ve been paying little attention to the news because it’s simply not that important to what I do and what I think about most of the time. In fact, I find that I’m much more successful the LESS I tune into the news broadcasts of the day.

You might consider doing the same.

This is a much better way to use your time than fretting about things over which you have no control and that may or not affect you on a personal level.

Consider this: The media loves events that cause people to panic because they end up getting more viewers, more readers, and more listeners, which means they get to charge more for advertising, thus dramatically increasing their bottom line.

If you follow the money, you’ll see why you’re being scared more and more everyday, all day, by the media. If you read my book, you’ll remember that FEAR is a powerful emotional motivator and it’s being used to the max right here, right now. And it’s being used very effectively, I might add.

Unless you buy into it, none of this will have any power over you.

So go ahead, put in your favorite CD, crank it up and start feeling better by putting your attention on the things that are right now working out great in your life and in your environment. Just a few minutes of this will change your day. Make it a habit and it will change your life!
